When dig day comes, our transport trucks bring the machines right to your lot line and carefully unload them onto the ground. The initial job is stripping away the grass, organic mat, and soft topsoil, which gets pushed into neat, stable stockpiles out of the main work zone for later landscaping use. Next, we dig down into the hard subsoil, shaping the foundation hole, utility trench, or building pad strictly according to your site plans while keeping a close eye on groundwater seepage and surface runoff the entire time. If we run into hidden tree stumps, thick taproots, or massive rock ledges, we swap to heavy rock buckets or use specialized attachments like hydraulic rippers to break them up and lift them out cleanly. As the main excavation moves forward, we load extra debris, root balls, and unusable subsoil directly into dump trucks to haul them off, keeping your site wide open so foundation crews and carpenters can move around safely. We bring in clean crushed rock, pit run, or structural aggregate to build up low spots, laying the stone down in thin layers and compacting each lift thoroughly with heavy rollers so your ground stays rock solid without settling or slumping over time. Once the main digging and grading are complete, we trim the side slopes, shape perimeter swales so rainwater sheds far away from your foundation footings, and smooth out the finished working surface with a wide ditching bucket. The final load of excess soil gets loaded, tarped, and hauled away, leaving your property clean, tidy, well-drained, and completely ready for the next trade to step in and start building.
